THE LINK BETWEEN YOUR EMOTIONS AND YOUR DIGESTION............

The Link Between Your Emotions and Your Digestion

The ancient teachings of Ayurveda tell us that our emotional state has a dramatic impact on our physical health; they reflect an understanding that human beings are emotional creatures and that there is an intricate connection between our emotions and what is happening in our physical body. There's a particularly deep relationship between our emotions and thoughts—both conscious and unconscious—and our digestion.

Ayurvedic teacher Dr. Vasant Lad has observed, “Emotions are like mangos. We have to learn to ripen them and then juice them. When emotions are juiced, they are deeply nourishing. Even sweet.” His words give us permission to feel and digest our life experiences.
In Ayurveda, there is a particular type of energy called Samana Vayu—which is the integrating/digestive capacity of the human mind-body system. The energy of Samana Vayu is what enables us to digest and absorb the nutrition from the food we eat. It's also the force responsible for digesting our life experiences. In other words, the same force that enables you to extract nourishment from food, allows you to extract sustenance from life. When this force is dampened due to emotional upheaval, or just the modern stressors of daily life, it can have a direct effect on our capacity to digest food, as well as our feelings.
Scientific research supports the Ayurvedic understanding of the belly-brain emotional connection. Clinical psychologists at the University of California in Los Angeles, as well as other scientists in the field of the food-mood connection have carried out studies supporting the connection between physiology and emotions, such as anxiety and depression.
Research shows that inflammation—a typical immune response to obesity, high-sugar diets, high quantities of trans fats, and unhealthy diets—may be the precursor to mood disorders such as depression. When people clean up their diet, inflammation is reduced, and mood states improve. There's also evidence that shows anti-inflammatory mainstays of the Ayurvedic pharmacopeia and kitchen such as turmeric (curcumin) and omega-3 rich oils, may help treat emotional issues, such as depression, PMS, and anxiety.
The good news is that we can treat imbalances in the emotional body with diet and lifestyle. We can also treat digestive issues with emotional processing techniques. Both will have the effect of boosting our capacity to metabolize food and our life experiences.

How to Stimulate Emotional Digestion

The word emotion itself comes from the Latin word emovere—to be moved. Emotions move us. They are a call to action and attention. Emotions are energy in motion. Our feelings only become a problem when we short circuit their natural tendency to move by “not feeling” or by overreacting.
According to Ayurveda, our emotions can be powerful gateways into grace, revelation, and even ease. When the emotions are repressed or misused, they lead to more pain and suffering. When systematically channeled, they are portals into empowerment and self-understanding. A deeply experienced emotion can help us dissolve blocks in our energy, as well as embedded psychological patterns from the past. When we are lovingly present to feelings, this can assist us to dissolve unwanted patterns or beliefs that may have been otherwise difficult to move beyond.
According to Ayurveda, the emotional body can be cleansed the same way we purify the physical body. This process, Strotomukha vishodhanam, is the act of allowing the passages through which our emotions flow to be purified by surrendering to them, and allowing them to circulate.
Many of us are afraid to feel our emotions. If we lovingly hold space and presence for our emotions to flow through us, they can find a natural digestive process and end point. Just like eating a banana, we don't have to tell it what to do in our digestive system. We eat the banana and our body naturally digests it. The same thing holds true with the emotions. If we simply observe and feel the emotion, it will rise, fall, and come to a natural state of completion. We can let go of what isn't needed (elimination) and keep what is useful (nutritional wisdom). Ayurveda says that if we “juice” our emotions in the moment—when they're ripe—we become calmer, more stable people. We seem, ironically, less emotional.
The digestive process of food is similar. If the fire of digestion is stalled, due to an unhealthy diet or lifestyle, we short circuit the natural process of metabolism. What we are left with is a dampened fire that leads to issues such as constipation, loose stools, IBS, or other digestive complaints. When we work to restore the natural digestive flow—just as we do with emotions—the fire of transformation can do its work.

3 Ways to Purify Emotions and Boost Digestion

Sometimes emotions must be provoked before they can be surrendered. Watching a sad movie, working with a trained therapist, or letting tears flow while recounting a life event are good methods for getting the emotions moving. Here are three other methods to try:
  • Get a deep tissue or Ayurvedic massage to help move the emotions that can get stuck in the tissues.
  • Try a yoga class where poses are held for longer periods of time. This allows us to explore emotions, allowing them to come to a natural completion.
  • Meditate: Bringing your awareness inward while meditating allows you to feel any unprocessed feelings stored in the body. Staying with your feelings with total loving awareness allows emotions to rise, digest, and fall away.

MUDRA THERAPY........

                          Mudra Therapy:

          Hand Alignments for Holistic Health.

Believe it or not – Your health is in your hands! Our hands are particularly blessed with virtues of wellness. The four fingers and the thumb represent the five major building blocks or the ‘Panchamahabhootas’ of which the entire universe is made viz. Sky (Ether), Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
According to natural sciences, disease is nothing but a limitation that emerges in the continuity and balance of these five elements.

Philosophy of Mudra Therapy
The natural sciences of Mudra therapy believe that the five fingers correspond to the five basic elements viz. Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
• Thumb – The fire (Agni) • Index finger – The air (Vayu) • Middle finger – The ether (Aakasha) • Ring finger – The earth (Prithvi) • Small finger – The water (Jala) So as to bring back the balance in the five elements, there are some specific methods of touching and aligning the fingers with each other. These are referred to as ‘Hast-Mudras’ and this easy and doable therapy may be practiced anytime as an augmented relief from your malady as well as a handy tool for restoring your wellness.

Health benefits of a Swedish Massage

What is a Swedish Massage?

The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart.

The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.

Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It also has many specific medical uses.

Swedish Massage Techniques

Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, effleurage, and shaking motions. The usually sequence of techniques are:
  1. Effleurage: Gliding strokes with the palms, thumbs and/or fingertips
  2. Petrissage: Kneading movements with the hands, thumbs and/or fingers
  3. Friction: Circular pressures with the palms of hands, thumbs and/or fingers
  4. Vibration: Oscillatory movements that shake or vibrate the body
  5. Percussion: Brisk hacking or tapping
  6. Passive and active movements: Bending and stretching
Benefits of Swedish Massage

Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being.

FOR A BETTER SLEEP...................

                          Image result for restful sleep

How to Get Restful Sleep

Restful sleep is the foundation for your mental and physical well-being. After a day of stimulating activity, your body needs deep sleep when your mind and body can rest and reset. When you’re well rested, you’re more alert, able to process new information more efficiently, and you make better decisions. On the other hand, when you’re sleep deprived, you’re more likely to make mistakes and it takes longer to complete tasks.

For maximum rejuvenation, we recommend a minimum of 6 to 8 hours of restful sleep each night, keeping in mind that the hours before midnight are generally the most rejuvenating. For example, if you sleep eight hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., you’ll feel more rested than if you sleep eight hours between midnight and 8 a.m.

To promote restful sleep, try this evening routine, or at least parts of this routine:

  • Eat a light dinner.
  • Take a leisurely stroll after you eat.
  • Minimize exciting, aggravating, or mentally intensive activities after 8:30 p.m.
  • About an hour before bedtime, run a hot bath into which you place a few drops of Relaxing Abhy oil.
  • Diffuse relaxing aromas in your bedroom.
  • As your bath is running, perform a slow self-administered oil massage, or Abhyanga, and then soak in the warm tub for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • While soaking, have the lights low or burn a candle, and listen to soothing music.
  • After your bath, drink a cup of warm relaxing herbal tea.
  • If your mind is very active, journal for a few minutes before bed. “Download” your thoughts and concerns so you don’t need to ruminate about them when you shut your eyes.
  • Read inspirational or spiritual literature for a few minutes before bed. Avoid dramatic novels or distressing reading material.
  • Do not watch television or do any work in bed.
  • Once in bed, close your eyes and simply “feel your body.” Focus on your body and wherever you notice tension, consciously relax that area.
  • Then, simply watch your slow easy breathing until you fall asleep.
If you still have trouble feeling asleep, please contact our  holistic healing and research centre, we have holistic therapies for "SLEEPLESSNESS'.

WHAT IS A CHAKRA?

                      What Is a Chakra?

The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible energy, called Prana, is vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive.

The Importance of the Main Chakras in the Body

These swirling wheels of energy correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each of the seven main chakras contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. Since everything is moving, it’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy cannot flow. Think of something as simple as your bathtub drain. If you allow too much hair to go into the drain, the bathtub will back up with water, stagnate and eventually bacteria and mold will grow. So is too with our bodies and the chakras. A bathtub is simple; it’s physical so the fix is easy.
Keeping a chakra open is a bit more of a challenge, but not so difficult when you have awareness. Since mind, body, soul, and spirit are intimately connected, awareness of an imbalance in one area will help bring the others back into balance. Take for example, a wife, who has recently lost her husband. She develops acute bronchitis, which remains in the chest, and then gets chest pains each time she coughs. The whole heart chakra is affected in this case. If she realizes the connection between the loss and the bronchitis, healing will occur much faster if she honors the grieving process and treats that as well as the physical ailment.

The Chakras of Matter

The first three chakras, starting at the base of the spine are chakras of matter. They are more physical in nature.
First Chakra: The Muladhara is the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. It encompasses the first three vertebrae, the bladder, and the colon. When this chakra is open, we feel safe and fearless.
Second Chakra: The Svadhisthana chakra is our creativity and sexual center. It is located above the pubic bone, below the navel, and is responsible for our creative expression.
Third Chakra: The Manipura chakra means lustrous gem and it’s the area from the navel to the breastbone. The third chakra is our source of personal power.

The Fourth Chakra: The Connection Between Matter and Spirit

Located at the heart center, the fourth chakra, anahata is at the middle of the seven and unites the lower chakras of matter and the upper chakras of spirit. The fourth is also spiritual but serves as a bridge between our body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The heart chakra is our source of love and connection.
When we work through our physical chakras, or the first three, we can open the spiritual chakras more fully.

The Chakras of Spirit

Fifth Chakra: The Vishuddha chakra is the fifth chakra, located in the area of the throat. This is our source of verbal expression and the ability to speak our highest truth. The fifth chakra includes the neck, thyroid, and parathyroid glands, jaw, mouth, and tongue.
Sixth Chakra: The Ajna chakra is located in between the eyebrows. It is also referred to as the “third eye” chakra. Ajna is our center of intuition. We all have a sense of intuition but we may not listen to it or heed its warnings. Focus on opening the sixth chakra will help you hone this ability.
Seventh Chakra: The Sahaswara chakra or the “thousand petal lotus” chakra is located at the crown of the head. This is the chakra of enlightenment and spiritual connection to our higher selves, others, and ultimately, to the divine. It is located at the crown of the head.

Clue to Aligning the Chakras

Awareness to which of your chakras are out of balance is key to aligning them. Our bodies are in constant flux between balance and imbalance. Unless you have an apparent problem in one area of the body, imbalances can be difficult to detect. That being said, it’s good to bring awareness to your body/mind and start to learn its signals and clues.
For example, frequent constipation can indicate a blockage in the first chakra. A recurring sore throat leaves clues to a blocked fifth chakra. Frequent headaches around the area of the forehead may mean your sixth chakra is blocked.
In the following articles on the chakras, we will explore each of the seven main chakras in depth as well as tips on how to align them.
Note:  Stay tuned for a deep dive into each of the seven chakras, and how to use them to find more balance.

TANTRIC MASSAGE - Benefits and Things.....

The Benefits of Tantric Massage Treatments

Things You Can Achieve Through Our Massage Therapies

Tantric massage is becoming more and more popular for many reasons, and one of them is the fact that the Tantra-based rituals bring a lot of benefits for you to enjoy. With a combination of Tantric therapies, the number of benefits to enjoy is even more significant. That is why we are going to specifically take a closer look at some of the benefits of Tantric massage.

Pain Relief

Tantric massage can be the perfect therapy to help you cure strained muscles and tension on several parts of the body. The pressures and touches incorporated as part of the Tantric massage rituals are very effective when used to deal with pain as well. Whether you are feeling tired after a long day at work or you injured yourself while exercising, Tantric massage can help you relieve pain effectively.

Stress Removal

Tantric massage is very relaxing by nature. Every part of the session will take you deeper into a state of relaxation, making it one of the best therapies to use when dealing with stress and depression.

Tantric massage can be very exciting, but you will still feel utterly comfortable throughout the session. The sense of security allows your body and mind to fully relax and regenerate energy quickly. As a result, you can feel it as your stress - and the issues causing the stress in the first place - slipping away.

Improves Blood Circulation and Lowers Blood Pressure

With the stress gone, your body will have better ability to function optimally. The stimulations given throughout a Tantric massage session will also stimulate better blood circulation and lower your blood pressure substantially.

Improved blood circulation certainly means better supply of oxygen, so you will also enjoy benefits such as improved cognitive abilities and better cell regeneration as a result of a Tantric massage session.

Removes Headaches and Migraines

Tantric massage is a holistic treatment performed all over your body; it treats your body and soul as a whole, with the rituals catering to the needs of both. Headaches and migraines are among the many health issues that can be solved by taking a session of Tantric massage.

As the session progresses, your brain will receive more and more oxygen while your mind goes into a deeper state of relaxation. Any form of headache will be eliminated right away even before the session ends.

Sleep Improvements

This is perhaps one of the best benefits of Tantric massage therapies. Not only will you be able to sleep superbly well the night after the therapy, the overall quality of your sleep in the long run will also be substantially improved.

Schedule regular sessions of Tantric massage therapies and you will also be able to fight insomnia and other problems related to your sleep and the quality of it.

Improves Sexual Drive and Energy

Tantric massage is also very sensual due to the sensual nature of Tantra itself. Among the many benefits you can enjoy from a session of Tantric massage is improved sexual drive and energy. As your therapist delivers stimulations across your body, you will feel your inner sexual energy developing exponentially.

The experience also allows you to learn more about how to control the sexual energy properly. Lingam massage, for example, is a very effective therapy that can help you fight sex-related problems such as:
  • Impotence
  • Premature ejaculation
  • Low quality of orgasm
and many more.

Improves Self-Esteem

Tantric massage allows you to feel good about yourself. As a result, your confidence and self-esteem will also be improved greatly. You can view your life from a positive perspective; achieving great things is much easier to do now that you have the energy and confidence to deal with the challenges in life.

Increases Spiritual Awareness

As mentioned earlier, Tantric massage is a holistic treatment. Aside from bringing a number of health benefits, it also brings great effects spiritually. One of the most prominent spiritual benefits is the increase of spiritual awareness.

You don't have to give in to anger and negative emotions as you go through daily activities with the help of Tantric massage. Having better control over your emotions and spiritual self will help you be a generally better person to yourself and those around you.

As your spiritual awareness increases, success is much easier to reach.

Builds Strong Spiritual Bonds

Both the basic Tantric massage and Tantric massage for couples help build strong spiritual bonds. The spiritual connection between you and the therapist allows the transfer of positive energy to happen optimally.

With Tantric massage for couples also available, you can also strengthen the spiritual bond between you and your partner greatly. The session is designed to allow both parties to enjoy every bit of the process nicely.

Improves Orgasm and Control Over It

Although Tantric massage is a very sensual therapy, orgasm is not necessarily the primary goal. However, the rituals incorporated into the Tantric massage session allows you to improve the quality of your orgasm as well as have an explosive one at the end of the session should you choose.

Regular sessions of Tantric massage also help you gain better control over your orgasm, both from a personal and spiritual points of view. As a result, your sexual life will be greatly improved and you will have a better ability to satisfy your partner.

Helps You Learn about Tantra

Bear in mind that Tantric massage also allows you to learn more about the rituals and the principles behind them. You can incorporate Tantra into every part of your life and be in peace with yourself and your surroundings.

Total Harmony

The key to living life to the fullest is total harmony. You need to be in sync with yourself, those around you, and your environment in general so that you can be as empathic as possible. When you are in total harmony, you can understand those around you better, see signs life throws at you, and have an even more enjoyable life nonetheless.
